Remake of Tales of Hearts: Anime Movie Edition

Finally beat this the other day. I've been a fan of the Tales games since Symphonia and have enjoyed each one I've played to some degree. Hearts R was no exception. That being said it was probably one of my least favorite ones. The action combat was as solid as ever and I really liked the Soma system they implemented for weapons. The story however was pretty weak, even by Tales standards. I felt the cast of characters were overall less interesting than many of the other games too. The group that I mainly used was Kor, Ines, Beryl, and Kohaku. If you are a fan of Tales games it's definately worth playing, just pretty average in my opinion.
Voto: 8.2/10
Awfully slowly and boring. I'm done with it; I am sorry.
I like the gemstone and fairy tale motifs throughout the story, but it's a pretty generic JRPG that happens to have the exciting Tales battle system.
Finally finished it. I enjoyed my time with it. I liked this much more than Tales of the Abyss, which I felt overstayed it's welcome. This game seemed to move at a much steadier pace.
I'm about 4 hours in, and so far it's going all right. It's looking like I'll stick with it for a while, but that could change. I generally only play one game at a time, but I'm considering turning that into "play one game I can finish and one long ass game like a JRPG" at a time.
Don't know if I'm actually going to finish this game, but I started it and we'll see where it goes from there. Initial impressions: It's not grabbing me! But most JRPGs start slow, so... maybe I'll enjoy this? Eventually?
