What is it with bosses when after you finished destroying them of all of their HP, they either revitalize all of their HP by sacrificing one of your party members or completely demolishing the entire party with an AOE attack?? It feels like such a cheap tactic! The only way you could possibly survive that is if one of your party members survives with little HP left (because you have so many), have a paradigm drive attack that buffs you with invulnerability or you have Dianto in your party. There's no in-between! I must say, I like Locke's skillset because it reminds me of Tressa's moves in Octopath Traveler. You pay people money to inflict so much damage to an enemy. Real boss. Was a wimp before. Turning a kid into a robot makes him a better character to use in your party, ironically. lol

Currently 9 hours into Lost Sphear on Hard mode and the game has whooped my ass several times at my current level. I'm around level 30 and it's mostly the empire soldiers and sergeants that end up being more overpowered. I either have to be very quick with my selections of what skills to use, grinding to an even higher level to surpass a section I'm stuck on or stock up on loads of healing items to succeed.

Apart, finding the selection of music tracks don't have a lot going for them. Just sounds like typical RPG music with no 'oomph' to it. The voice acting only happens in combat and not text box cutscenes and when I try to skip through the long pauses by holding the start button, I might accidentally skip some important text box (which has been remedied with the rewind function) and cause the sound effects to not play at all.

I do like how the game doesn't rely on random encounters. You can avoid any encounter by using fulcosuits or just by running around the enemies. The game has this layer of strategy by where you position your characters to line up your attacks (depending on what skills to utilize). Where I am at with the story ids at the Graccia Southlands and wil continue to play this to see where the story is going. The story is pretty much "the empire is evil and we have to stop them from destroying everything". Can't wait to fight a final boss that is pretty much a big force to be reckoned with threatening all life on the land.

It leave me wondering if it's worth picking up one day. I tried the demo. the central coceit of hte game is both a bit confusing and interesting: remaking ore remember the world, which it seems only the protagonist can do. It didn't hook me, but the demo felt like a very random slice of the game, making it hard to tell if it was enjoyable.

I played I am Setsuna and I quite liked that game although I did find the battle system somewhat confusing. Now I am playing this game and even though there are more explanations in game I still am not sure about the battle system. Have to see if I can find more info and am not enjoying it as much. It is repetitive which I am used to as an old jrpg gamer but also a bit boring. Hope it gets better.

Curious if anyone is picking this up for PS4 today. Although I pre-ordered I am Setsuna, I decided to wait on picking up Lost Sphere, at least until a few reviews are posted.
