Meh

Landscapes look cool. But the control just feel janky. For a game like this, the controls have to be perfectly tuned. I guess I came in with very high expectations, basically Trials in 3D. It's not that. The massive races have some appeal. There's a lot appeal of seeing all these national parks.

The Game You've Been Waiting For Since You Were A Kid

One of the best things about Rider's Republic is that it takes all the good things from the old Tony Hawk's/X-Games styled gameplay, throws it into a massive open world and let's you go nuts with over 50 people simultaneously.

That's a dream come true. Riders Republic is perhaps one of the smoothest open-world sports game (probably only) to ever come out. Absolute carnage and mayhem while making you feel like a beast on the slopes.

Tricks or race - you pick. Skiing, biking or god damn jet-gliding - perhaps all three in the same race? Riders Republic is a total rush and never feels stale at any point.

My best advice is - play it for a few minutes at a time especially after a long day's work. This is the perfect break-time breather. A quick race or two or perhaps just explore the world for landmarks.

V1CGaming's review of Riders Republic

Riders Republic makes a strong case as one of the best and most varied extreme sports games to date, with a solid offering of unique vehicles that are fun to use and master. The expansive open world and huge number of events will ensure that players could spend countless hours completing every challenge and finding every secret, all on top of the exciting multiplayer options. There’s still technical issues to iron out, but whether you want the chaotic thrills of Mass Races or the chilling exploration of Zen mode, the accessible and deep nature of Riders Republic makes it a must-play for racing fans of any skill level.

I keep dipping my toes back into Riders Republic every now and then, it's pretty fun to chill out in and especially good with a friend!

If i'm being honest I just enjoy messing around, but the open world design and ability to switch sports at the press of a button is definitely the main pull of the game. It's also fun spending time to really hone in on one particular sport. Good mix between the casual and silly style of say a Tony Hawk game but with the right amount of precision to pull off harder tricks if you want to take it to that level. And all of this is coming from a particularly non-sporty gamer. Guess they must be doing something right!
