Don't Rock The Green Mirror

This game's weird. And truth be told, I don't really have much of anything to actually say. I want to say a goblin living in my walls logged onto my steam and wishlisted the game, but this is also exactly the kind of game I would wishlist. I just can't remember doing so at all.

This game's weird. And truth be told, I don't really have much of anything to actually say. I want to say a goblin living in my walls logged onto my steam and wishlisted the game, but this is also exactly the kind of game I would wishlist. I just can't remember doing so at all.

This game... is a boss rush. A rather.. goofy boss rush. It reminds me of something like Last Command, which I hated by the way. But this one was actually fun. You simply dash into enemies to hit them and dodge their attacks, and do a little dance. A cute little jiggle. Why? To save the world of course. Extremely simple and silly but fun nonetheless. The music is something like a fever trip but in a really good way. The title I have for this review is the name of one of the tracks and it's only there cause the name stood out to me and is used frequently. One thing the game does at some point is sync the music tracks to the visuals of the background, but I wish it would do it more often than it did. The game is also rather short at about 4 hours or so depending on the difficulty and how well you adapt to the controls. And I will always mention and repeat myself; I very much appreciate short but solid and tight experiences. Which this very much was.

Overall, it's a rather silly and goofy game. The premise and narrative that's present is odd but cute. Until maybe it isn't. The thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is that it was missing just that slight... oomph in regards to the narrative development. I think maybe having the Spear of Longinus somewhere in there at some point would have been rather well placed. It certainly made me believe it was going to make an appearance. Fun game. Cheap. I'd recommend.

Here are some innocuous screenshots I nabbed while playing. Spoilers of course. enter image description here
