I played through this for the easy achievements. Now that's out of the way I can say I had some decent fun with it. The controls were tight, the frame rate consistent and the colours bright and decadent. Very much an arcade game complete with a deep male voice counting down the seconds before games began. The game is split into a multiplayer mode and a challenge mode. The challenge mode is a single player mode and gives you a series of challenges to complete. These can be pretty hard at first but with diligence, can be done. The meat of the game however is the multiplayer which can have up to 8 players at one time vying for control in King of the Hill modes, Capture the Flag and the ever popular Team Death Match. There are power ups in game that can increase speed, sword range or give you a horse. Matches can be complete chaos and if you forget which colour your character is, you're likely to have a bad time. I won't pretend I played this with a group of friends but I can see the appeal, the screen can get very cluttered and colourful in the midst of a frantic game with up to 7 bots on the screen. However, it is fair to say that it would be best enjoyed with as many friends as you can gather for it.

Verdict

Simple and fun, best played with actual people.
