so far so fun, makes me wanna replay Infamous. I had some trouble w the movement at first but once you get the hang of it it's freakin awesome

I'm liking the colourful vibes and playful style. The traversal is nice, but it feels to complicated and fast for me. The camera feels too close to capture everything that's going on on the screen, and since you need to be constantly hitting those face buttons to chain combos, my thumb has no time to position the camera correctly. I might need to change to mouse and keyboard.
My biggest complain is that I'm just a few hours in and I'm already soured by the repetitive mission structure and typical open world bullshit.

The Xbox Series X|S Controller is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the Xbox One controller. I can't quite put my finger on why, but my hands cramp if I play with the One controller, but not with the Series X|S. It was the thing I hated about my One controller, it just never felt enjoyable to play with. My partner seems to think it is the height of the analogue sticks. The One sticks are very tall, and Microsoft clearly reduced that height on the Seiners X|S controller. She might be right, they seem much more in-line with the height of the PS4 controller. We still both prefer the DS4 for its overall size (smaller), but the Series X|S controller does seem like a step in the right direction.
Ah the joys of joining a new console ecosystem.

And now I’m hunting down backpacks, just like you do in Spider-Man.
This game feels like a lot of things, an amalgamation of several of Insomniac’s prior and later games, with a splash of Saints Row sensibility in the mix. At the same time it also has a very old school Xbox game vibe. It feels like someone over at Microsoft had a checklist of features that needed to be included, from forced online multiplayer that affects single player mode, to tower defence segments to excessive collectables for the sake of padding out the game.
As I play this I increasingly feel like Spider-Man is a game that stripped all of the padding and excess from Sunset Overdrive and retained only the absolute best elements. You can definitely draw a line directly from this game to Spider-Man, and all see everything that was tossed out along the way.

I did something impulsive and bought a Series S. Sooo...I guess I finally get to play Sunset Overdrive!
And I imagine there are a lot of other current and back catalogue games on Gamepass that are worth my time. If anyone has suggestions I’m open to hearing them.

Gave this game a good two hours over two play sessions, it just isn't grabbing me. Something about it is both too much and not enough to keep me hooked. I may try again at another point, but I may just be tired of open world games for a good while.

Just completed this on Steam now it's been liberated from the Xbox One. Perfect companion to the ultra-grounded experience Red Dead 2 turned out to be!
Love the humour and presentation, and the fun of the traversal rivals their Spiderman effort! The gameplay doesn't stretch well over ten hours, though, however many glimmers of hope there are with various vehicle …

Much too much enemy clearing - to the tune of ten thousand in a playthrough! Still, it was good being late to the party on this one!
