KRF is a solid tower defense game but a somewhat disappointing sequel.

First the good. KRF has some new tower types and fun maps. There are also twice as many heroes that are all quite distinct from one another. Its strongest positive is that is has a great variety in enemies, some of which require specific strategies to deal with.

Now for the disappointing bit. The skills seem to be exactly the same as in the first Kingdom Rush. Excess stars still can't be used for something. KRF still uses the exact same two spells as before, with the same upgrade tree as before.

There are also some aspects that are bad. The hero interface is poor, there's no decent overview of skills and traits. Upgrading heroes is also a bit of a grind. KRF still doesn't show you the enemies' path. You can't pause and play. There's no speed up button. Tutorial dialogue (e.g. new tower type) is shown when replaying maps. The "casual" difficulty feels like "normal" difficulty. Towers will target enemies they can't damage.

KRF is still a very fun game and i would definitely recommend it to people who like tower defense games, but i hope …
