Crimson Manor is a first person puzzle game, not unlike The Room and other point and click escape games. It reminds me a lot of classic Resident Evil - you have a large manor to explore, a map, and the ability to freely move about and solve puzzles. It is pretty fun, but I kept wanting it to include the other gameplay aspects of a classic survival horror game.
The puzzles are pretty great, I took notes the whole time and it was very fun to progress through the game. My only real complaint is that it left a horror sized whole in my heart. I wanted inventory management, fear and death, combat, and a more oppressive atmosphere.
The vibe is - chill, slightly strange, Victorian. Good enough but doesn’t really give me goosebumps or anything. Still, if you are in the mood for a relaxing and somewhat challenging puzzle game in a mansion… this will do the trick.
