Semyon, a poster child contemporary chan culture consumer, falls asleep in the bus, only to wake up in front of the gates of Sovyonok, a pioneer camp of the late Soviet Russia. Everlasting Summer is a time-warping, mind-bending visual novel with some eroge content, produced by the collective efforts of Russian chan communities.

SuperEffective's review of Everlasting Summer

I enjoy a variety of visual novels and when I come across a free one, I'm always open to play it. So here, you are a guy living in cold, wintery Russia when you fall asleep on the bus and suddenly find yourself at some kind of summer camp (you're 25 in the real world and then become 18 at camp; the girls are all 18 except Ulyana, who is apparently 14-15, so.. you know). There seems to be a lot of secrets to be had at this camp, but your primary objective is to make it to the end of the week at camp and get a good or bad ending with one of the camp girls. As many games, if you mess up ONCE somewhere during this lengthy game, there goes your entire chance at a good ending. The downside (in my opinion) is that you have to know when to save BEFORE the choice comes up because you won't be able to save on the choice screen. This is frustrating when you come to a new route and don't know when the choice option comes up; sometimes the in between sequences are seriously long, so you would …

The downside (in my opinion) is that you have to know when to save BEFORE the choice comes up because you won't be able to save on the choice screen. This is frustrating when you come to a new route and don't know when the choice option comes up; sometimes the in between sequences are seriously long, so you would have to go back to the previous save and scroll through everything you just saw if you select the wrong option. According to my Steam account, I put in about 7 hours and got two bad endings so far. There are 6 girls you can achieve good and bad endings with, so you can spend a lot of time completing this.

Additional note: There is an uncensored version here (http://www.nutaku.net/games/everlasting-summer/) where the Steam version is censored.

5 for ost and atmosphere

Good thing to pass the cold and black winter evening. Be careful with bad endings.

I wanted to give a try to a visual novel game and from what I've played so far, I really find myself enjoying it.
