Another Gamepass game I decided to check out due to curiosity. Confession time...I like playing slot machines. Worse yet, I'm a math teacher and am quite aware of how statistics and expected value work. That being said, I was a little worried Cloverpit would tickle my lizard brain and consume countless hours of my life. I was also worried it was going to be hot garbage.

Turns out, it lands somewhere in the middle. The mechanics which seemed simple at the beginning belie some depth, specifically the drawer mechanic was the most novel addition to Balatro). On that note, I don't think clover pit adds enough to make it more than a passing fancy for a Balatro-head like me.

Admittedly there may be more behind the curtain, as there are a few mechanics and moments I'm aware of that I never accomplished, but I think my time with Cloverpit will finish around the 7 hr mark. I've unlocked all the draws and all the memory cards, but still have too many charms left to unlock to be worth it, and the door unlock process seems almost cruel, but maybe that's a skill issue.
