Similar in some ways to Namco's popular Dig Dug title, Mr. Do! was also popular and saw release on a variety of home video game consoles and systems. It is the first game in the Mr. Do series, and was released both as a standalone game and as a conversion kit (released by Taito Corp.) for existing arcade cabinets. It was one of the first arcade games to be released as a conversion kit, and went on to sell 30,000 units in the United States. It was also a popular choice on the 1983 video arcade-based game show Starcade. Read less

Another Excellent Arcade Action Game. Fast-Paced, Fun, And Silly.

Look: 8/10 Yay! Love when I stumble upon the stand-out game of the day near the end of it :-p The look was probly the least notable part of it, but functional and cute. It's hard to get a screenshot in the middle of all the action :-p The Ms Pac-Man-esque interludes between Scenes were cute and those sprites/graphics were …

Look: 8/10 Yay! Love when I stumble upon the stand-out game of the day near the end of it :-p The look was probly the least notable part of it, but functional and cute. It's hard to get a screenshot in the middle of all the action :-p The Ms Pac-Man-esque interludes between Scenes were cute and those sprites/graphics were quite impressive. I had to pause the game to get a screenshot of the Extra Mr. Do interlude :-p so the colors are darker than they really are, but had to get an image somehow! enter image description here

Fortunately I was able to find somewhere with several screenshots of the game. I found it after playing the game through Scene 10, but it definitely could have been valuable for reference ha.

Sound: 8/10 Tho it's an overused song, it fits the theme well, and I like how the music changes and sound effects change with your actions, etc.

Play: 9/10 I felt like I actually used the boulders, well apples or whatever those are, more than in Dig Dug heh. Clearly Dig Dug derivative, but I felt like I exploited pathways and used a maze game mindset more here. Maybe Dig Dug used more randomized movement, while these enemies are quite predictable and felt like a constant chase. I guess I am a sucker for these Robby Roto, Dig Dug, etc. arcade games. Pro-tip: you can just defeat all the monsters in the scene smh, I only discovered this at about Scene 5 lol. You don't have to collect all the cherries to move on. (But, I still mostly relied on collecting the cherries cuz that's what I had gotten used to. Most online info says it's easier to defeat the enemies instead :-p welp. I never make it easy heh.)

Feel: 9/10 I love love love the spelling of "extra" for extra lives aspect (by the way, you hit the letters that are walking around, don't collide/collect em ha), reminds me of Super Mario games and Crash/CTR/other driving games collect-the-letters aspects :-p Not that it was getting even remotely meh at this point, but I did check how many scenes were in total (10 before a "re-cycle" as I call it, where it's the same scenes but new color schemes) at Scene 7. So, that was definitely attainable! Yay. I should have screenshotted more cuz it had nice colors and the interludes were great. But I was just focused on enjoying the game before bedtime :-p Cool that the little interludes sorta report how you're doing heh, like a rating along the way. I know I'm weird, but gave me Resident Evil 2 ranking feel :-p

Attachment: 8/10 Welp, I pushed through and reached my goal. Scene 10 definitely felt hard, and then Scene 11 was real hard. I definitely can see myself returning to this, love this genre of arcade action, but I didn't quite have the drive to immediately replay it in the re-cycled form. Proud to have reached another goal tho! :-p enter image description here

Completion: All 10 unique Scenes. 81,950 Score Playtime: ~50 mins
