Played on emulator with savestates, fastforward, turbo and a guide. Yeah.

A friend recommended this little "gem" of the SNES. Honestly the game is kinda not that bad overall, but the timing for the double-jump is so terrible that it completely ruined the experience for me.

Beat the game. I enjoyed the combat, especially how you can tactically use the different weapons and how half of them are limited by ammo; the arrows and grenades were fun to use to deal with dangerous enemies and even wreck bosses. I found that as I played the game more, I got better with using the sword and used it more often. I found the hookshot generally ineffective for combat, though I did find it the most effective weapon against the boss guy that you fight more than once.

Not a big fan of platforming in general, and did not much like it in this game either. Took some trial and error to learn the hero's platforming abilities. The final boss annoyed me because it combined platforming with combat in a way that means you will more likely fail by the time limit running out than getting killed, though I have to give the game credit for that fight being well designed for this type of game. Disappointed by the lack of story; this game would really have benefited from cutscenes and dialogue.
