Was itching for an FPS and decided to give this one a shot but was pretty soon disappointed.
The game is a WWI mixed with zombies and other demonic beings - which actually starts like a pretty nice premise for a game. And as far as the story went for as little as I played it seems pretty nice. However bad game play, poor visuals and completely annoying screen shake told me to leave it and never return.
Graphics are pretty dark and confusing. I had a lot of problems making out where I was, where I need to go and actually spotting an enemy soldiers which blended into background too easily. This made it really painful to play. On opposite I hated and loved at the same time how you could see through the gas masks - really not much.
As the game play goes - thought this was going to be a more classical FPS. But it's more of an arena shooter where you get locked off and need to kill specific enemy or enemies before you can progress further. Joined with find something and blow something while everything is trying to get you felt really not what …

Joined with find something and blow something while everything is trying to get you felt really not what I was hoping for. Top that with bulletsponge enemies, flying mages and hordes of zombies - topped with terrible screen shake while everything explodes - made my head hurt.
Overall can't recommend it at all - and for the most would probably advise to stay away.
I was overall impresed by this game. It's not for everyone, it feels like a rather droll and unimpressive game at first, and screens of it look underhwelming, even downright hokey. (I'd have never checked it out were it not for some well seasoned gamers I know harping on about it, I was curious what would prompt such an obsession) But as it got going i became suprisingly sucked into the story of this game as it went into an interesting direction. For that alone i'd say this game make it worth checking out. It's in a World War 1 setting, with a twist of lovecraft and maybe Brian Lumley for inspiration, but does it's own thing and doesnt rip off anything that i can tell. Reminded me a bit of Clive Barker's shooters: Undying, Jericho (and i would even argue is a much better 'game') and Call of Chtulhu Dark Corners of the Earth. Reccomended if you enjoyed those games I mention, it's a very similiar kind of experience. Farm 51 did Painkiller, I should play it, would probably like that too
My friend bought me this game for Christmas 2012 and I always felt guilty for not playing it for so long. I finally fired it up and after playing it I remembered that time he showed up to my house with scorpion pepper pizza and didn't tell me what it was, my brother ate it and was hospitalized.
Now I think this was just an elaborate prank 13 years in the making.
Great shooter love the world they create.
A game that combines the first world war with fantasy elements. Even though the concept looks interesting and the graphics are still not bad for the year of release, the gameplay is so bad that the few positive aspects are not enough to make up for it. You can look at COD WW that came out a year before this game and you can see the serious gameplay difference between them. The NecroVision developers probably didn't really know much about FPS games.
This game is very VERY wonky (like it feels on purpose obstructing your progress as piling bodies make it difficult to move) but if you try hard enough there is the rare case for a survival horror FPS game here in which you are frantically trying to shoot zombies in the head with a large amount of recoil, can't walk properly with the pile of bodies mentioned, and have to every now and then do melee attacks.
