Remake of Odin Sphere

I love the original odin sphere and this new version adds a lot of cool new expansions upon the gameplay. I enjoyed it but at the end I was a little sad new game plus was harder only and you couldn't play the game again with all your new stuffs. I kinda enjoyed wrecking bosses with end game equipment on the orginal but that might just be a wierd nostalgia. Overall odin sphere continues to be a beautiful and amazing action rpg I recommend to all.
this is one of the best RPG's i have ever played, i discovered it through a demo on the PSN store and im glad i did, the characters , the music, the story and even the bosses were fantastic, my review is a 5 out of 5.
Played on PS3, May 2017
Pros: A feast for the eyes and ears: gorgeous hand drawn sprites and backgrounds; music by one of my favorites, Hitoshi Sakimoto and Basiscape. The gameplay is fun as well: combat, using and learning skills, making and using potions are all fluid and fun. I love the title screen. The last boss was also great. Good story, dialogue and characters.
Cons: Gameplay can be repetitive but I didn't mind. I did not enjoy fighting some of the aerial bosses though. Especially that damn blimp, that can go to hell.
Replay at some point.
gioco stupendo e addirittura platinato. Musiche eccellenti. Giocato su PS4 Voto: 10/10
I though I was getting a basic handle on the plot and setting but then the king banished Gwendolyn to be a literal waifu but she still can fight and be a Valkire? And then nobody talks about how the obviously evil general took over the king's body?
I played a bit during a flight. Boy this game is gorgeous. The style, the colours, it's just stunning. Gameplay is very weird, but not unenjoyable so far. But I've got today that the graphics look to small on my phone so I think I might move to the big screen.
Really fun play session, finished gwendolyn and started corelius which is even funner :D
Given 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim received what already feels like an impeccable Switch port, and GrimGrimoire was updated and brought to Switch, I’d love for ports of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Apparently I’m not alone:
Vanillaware President Really Wants A 'Muramasa' Port But Admits "There Are Problems"
This game’s fun combat and traversal are broken up bit too often by its “screen”-based level structure and a bunch of RPG stuff like crafting, planting, cooking, that I don’t feel is as necessary as the action side of the game. I feel like there is great potential here for something I’d really be loving if the parts I like were transposed into a more modern 2D action-platformer structure with a more seamless world, because this would really allow that stuff to flow in a way it can’t in this game. I’m still having some fun but not as much as I wanted to, let’s just say that. I’m aware that this enhanced combat was not in the original release, so I wouldn’t hold it against the developer as a critique on the game’s design focus, just something that’s in my mind while playing.
What I have no complaints about though is the game’s visual style, which is some of the best you could find in a true 2D game. The backgrounds look really nice and distinct, and I like most characters’ designs. Even the ones I don’t still contribute to the overall theme and feel they were going for. …

It’s a well-executed style that really elevates the game and draws me in, to compensate for its story and voice acting not really doing that for me.
Simplemente genial. Un action RPG divertido, difícil, con una historia compleja con grandes giros argumentales. Un must play.
As I slowly made my way through each character's story, I finally find myself at the end. Taking necessary breaks between books has stretched the game out longer, which has been quite enjoyable. Now for my final break between the main story and the finale, just to prolong the eventual and the sad realization that it is all over.
After more than 30 hours of gameplay, I finally finished Odin Sphere Leifthrasir on my beloved PS Vita. My overall impression is positive, I enjoyed the great presentation and fun gameplay making this a quality release for the criminally undersupported handheld. There was occasional slowdown during intense scenes, but it did not bother me that much, for the most part it runs very well. As for the narrative, it was deeper than I expected, telling a story of dark forces plotting the end of the world, retold five times over from the perspective of five different characters, culminating in a five-pronged final battle. While I appreciate the narrative approach, I did think the game got repetitive: you ended up visiting the same places, fighting virtually the same bosses over and over. I think it would've been better with shorter, less overlapping chapters. This being said, I really did enjoy my time with this game, and certainly recommend it to other Vita owners out there.
I have mostly positive things to say about Odin Sphere Leifthrasir about 17 hours into the game. The artwork is obviously fantastic, but the music is also good and the gameplay is addictive - I have more fun playing this than I had with Dragon's Crown to be sure. I was actually surprised to find this is a story-driven game, retelling the same chain of events from the viewpoint of five different characters - each with their own motives and loyalties - which means that you gain a better understanding of how everything pieces together as you complete more character arcs. Being almost halfway into the third arc I do, however, start to feel repetition weighing on me, because you do end up visiting the same areas and fighting the same bosses over and over. The characters play more or less differently from each other so you do get some gameplay variation there, but I'm afraid I will sigh with relief as I run through with the fifth character. The first two character arcs were finished in 8 and 7 hours respectively, which means that unless the chapters become progressively shorter this will be a 40+ hour game. I'm not …

I'm not entirely sure the premise is interesting enough for that, but we'll see. All this being said I would not discourage anyone from buying this, it has been really good value for the money so far!
