Necrovison Lost Company is a huge improvement over its predecessor. The guns don't have that awful screen shake effect, the AI isn't as blatantly awful, your teammates don't die instantly and are helpful in-mission, the level design is much better, and the game doesn't rely on you killing enemies to heal yourself. Necrovison Lost Company is a huge improvement over its predecessor. The guns don't have that awful screen shake effect, the AI isn't as blatantly awful, your teammates don't die instantly and are helpful in-mission, the level design is much better, and the game doesn't rely on you killing enemies to heal yourself. The story is much more compelling with a protagonist who doesn't spout one-liners every other kill, it fleshes out the Germans to be normal guys who got sent to war as opposed to comically evil guys for the American to gun down, and it doesn't abandon its WWI setting halfway through like the original. I was having a good time for the most part, up until the last 2 missions where the game had to scramble to get the story to its point at the beginning of the original.
I'd give it a 3/5, if it stuck the landing I would've given it a 4. Still a recommend.
