First time back in Orbus since the big update a few months ago. After an hour in so far, it's really improved a lot! Still getting on my feet with the tutorials. Planning on continuing regularly.
I've put about an hour into OrbusVR and have found it to have many of the issues I dislike about current first-person VR games: teleporting is an awkward way to explore an open world, floating around is nauseating; using an in-game finger to tap 2D buttons to open and close 2D UIs requires incredible precision; and voice-only communication is difficult even in the best of circumstances (sorry for wiping our group, Smythe!). Ultimately, playing a new, early-access MMO after 14 years of World of Warcraft is painful.
And yet, I am thoroughly enjoying myself. I feel like I'm a kid again again, fumbling through the first few levels of WoW on my Night Elf priest. Even with all the drawbacks, being in VR on a fantasy adventure surrounded by other folks struggling with the same limitations is kind of exciting.
