Pretty fun platformer especially in co-op mode.

As you can't jump in this game it has an interesting control mechanic where you have to cling to platforms with your bionic arm. I liked that idea, but it is not implemented good enough and you struggle to move a character properly. With that being said I recommend to play on easy difficulty to avoid an eventual frustration from repeated failures.

Apart from that it's a nice experience for an evening, you can beat this game in 3-4 hours.

I never played the original NES game and I don't even remember why I bought this remake on PC. I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit even though there are limitations on the controls that would be nonsensical in the real world. For example, you cannot shoot diagonally but you can launch your bionic arm diagonally. You can't jump either. And yet this game with its great level design is fun and challenging even with these limitations. However, there are places in levels that mock your inability to jump, like a waist high box preventing you from getting a secret. I don't know how closely the level designs match the NES original but I thought they forced me to make good use of the bionic arm, a fun mechanic.
