An experience that will grow on you

When I first started playing, I thought the other review at 2 stars was accurate. This game is definitely not welcoming to newcomers, with most of the information about the mechanics hidden behind your squad manual.

But I have this obsessive need to at least complete the story mode of the games I start, so I pushed through. And I'm glad I did. Although it's hard to find information for what you need and there's little online help, as you play and you start to discover some of the lore in this world, it draws you in. The game feels like too much at first, with so much of the experience lost behind the world's own jargon like "blood codes" and "code rise", but once it all starts to make sense, (emphasis) it all starts to make sense.

If you like dungeon crawlers, give this a shot. If you're new to the genre, another place might be a better place to start, but keep this one in mind for later.
