A very chill RE-like

Just did a replay of this, having somewhat recently playing the sequel (which I enjoyed slightly less despite the graphic upgrade). And, I still feel about the same - I absolutely adore this game. It’s very simple, low-detailed, but man is it fun. The isometric angle and the almost Nintendo Mii style of character design combined with classic Resident Evil gameplay just makes for such a fun, cozy, and enjoyable experience.

I’ve updated my rating from a 4/5 to 5/5. Yes there are some translation issues and a couple confusing bits, but for the most part it is a perfect game to me. I would’ve loved a hard mode and limited saves, the ammo was a bit too plentiful to really feel challenging (if you’re used to the genre). But despite that, I had an absolute blast just as I did the first time. I will need to do a replay of the sequel sometime soon to compare them again.

Heaven Dust is one of my favorite games I’ve played this year! It really hit the spot of Resident Evil remake - a somewhat calming horror puzzle game.

I’ve always loved games that are both cozy and creepy - it’s a unique combination and I can’t think of many. But this one nails it. It has really great puzzle design and exploration, mixed with a pretty interesting story (not super original though).

It isn’t scary, but that didn’t bother me. It still feels dark and the ambience is there. But if you’re like me and appreciate the down time in resident evil game - this is that but the entire game. Loved it

Resident Evil? Nah, simply a bad game

The game tries very hard to be Resident Evil 1, but it's actually worse in every aspect.
The fights are annoying, since zombies can hit you through a door, or block a door.
And the puzzles are mostly "guess a code for this safe". There are literally 3 codes you need to guess during the first hour or so.
