Really slow paced. Even when you’re making progress, it doesn’t feel like the story is advancing. Not a fan of the characters so far, particularly Nokia. Digivolving is cool, but it’s confusing for someone coming from Pokémon. The digivolution isn’t as linear, but it also offers freedom when advancing your digimon. Digivolving is cool, but it’s confusing for someone coming from Pokémon. The digivolution isn’t as linear, but it also offers freedom when advancing your digimon. Optional content is boring and un memorable. There are several cases that feel the exact same, but they’re actually not. Playing as a female is weird because you can tell they didn’t change the dialogue from the male scenario.

This game is entirely delisted from PSN, and only purchasable in a bundle with the following game on the Switch…? So weird. The fact that you can buy it on Switch at all means it can’t be a licensing issue or anything, so it feels like they just really want people to buy the next game instead. Guess I shouldn’t …

that said, collecting digimon is fun! zig-zagging back and forth on the digivolution trees is fun! my lizard brain will always have a weakness for that kind of thing and digimon does it well.
that localisation though, whew.

Plays very similarly to the Digimon Adventure game on the PSP, mixed with the play styles of Digimon World 3 and any of the Pokemon games. I really like it so far and, just like always, unlocking new digivolutions of your favorite monsters is really satisfying.
