This is a roguelike action RPG thing where you move to the right and can't backtrack, lest you are consumed by an all-consuming light.

It's pretty quick to pick up and play. There's a tutorial but it doesn't help a ton. It took me three attempts to finish a run on Easy mode (which means it's approx. three thousand times easier than something like Swords of Ditto since I haven't gotten through that once in four years of intermittent attempts). I never made enough money to ever actually buy anything, so it seems quite easy. I tried to balance between things I could sell for good $, useful equipment, and healing items. The problem with trying to sell things for money comes in the form of possibly never encountering a single shop. As I have, of course, now that I have something to sell for lots of money to actually frigging buy something else.

I hate roguelikes so I'm working on that. One Way Heroics is simple enough and offers enough reward between attempts that it doesn't make me want to chuck my system through the window yet.
