Let's be real, one of the best parts of this game is the fact that you can dress Eevee up. Mine is wearing a freakin' bowler hat and I CAN'T WITH THIS CUTENESS

I am thoroughly enjoying myself. I actually love the fact that you don't fight any of the wild pokemon, you just catch them instead. It definitely takes stress out of a relatively stressless game to begin with and makes it a relaxing game. Plus I, as an old curmudgeon of twenty three who can't keep up with the kids and …

It definitely takes stress out of a relatively stressless game to begin with and makes it a relaxing game. Plus I, as an old curmudgeon of twenty three who can't keep up with the kids and their new found generations of pokemon, really enjoy that it's just gen 1 pokemon.

Completed the dex last night and got the shiny charm. The odds are crazy good. I got a shiny drowzee and Charizard within 5 minutes of each other. Then growlithe and Rhydon within 5 mins. This morning, 2 oddish in a run followed by caterpie (those three, again all within 5 minutes of each other)

To me, this is one of my favorite Pokemon game. Pokemon had gotten pretty stale for me in a while. I enjoyed the newer games, but found myself forcing me to beat these games to the end since they felt a bit like a chore, like I had already done this countless times. This isn't void of that, but Pokemon Let's Go bring a lot of new flavors to the formula, and really change the way you play these games. Random encounters are gone. This to me is the best change of this game. Instead, you have to physically walk into the Pokemon in the wild in order to catch them. Another thing they've changed is the mechanic to catch the Pokemon themselves, adopting the Pokemon Go mechanic. This is both a good and bad thing, I find. In the wild, I prefer this over battles. It also makes a lot more sense in the sense of world building: rather than beating the Pokemon near death and then capturing them and expecting them to fight for you, you instead feed them with berries to make them easier to catch and just repeatedly throw poke-balls at them until they stay inside.

This is Pokemon, but simple. Charming. It's easy to digest and a gorgeous new addition to the Pokemon series. I loved that they only had the original 152 Pokemon (obviously, since it's a remake) but yet included the Alolan versions as well, as a way to tie this game with the rest of the franchise. This game isn't perfect, but it made me fall in love with Pokemon all over again, and for that, I give it 5 stars.

Somehow I managed to get to a point in the game where I'm kind of stuck? Anytime I battle someone, even npcs on the road, it's a STRUGGLE and my pokemon die most of the time. But I've beaten everything up 'til now (afaik?) Maybe I skipped over something somehow? I feel like I accidentally stumbled into an area way …

But I've beaten everything up 'til now (afaik?) Maybe I skipped over something somehow? I feel like I accidentally stumbled into an area way above my level but I'm not sure how that happened lmao. I keep playing it for like 10 min only to get frustrated and nope out.

I am beyond charmed by this game. Partner Pikachu is adorable, and seeing Kanto in 3D tickles all of my nostalgia fancy. I thought I would hate the catching mechanics, but it actually made catching Pokemon new and fresh again - even if I'd rather the motion controls not really be a thing. And that it has the traditional battling …

I have so far resisted the temptation to buy this just because Eevee is cute... I was excited when I thought it was going to be a full game, but early previews seemed to suggest it was more like a casual, watered-down version of the game too dependent on Pokemon Go, so I canceled my pre-order.
