Didn't think I'd grab this one right away but then I had a couple of drinks on Friday to celebrate the end of the working week and woke up with Animal Crossing downloaded on the Switch. Oops.

Anyway, I'm already in love with the game and dropped a few hours into over the course of the day. Utterly charmed.

For anyone interested, I’ve temporarily pinned a thread as Grouvee’s official Animal Crossing: New Horizons gathering place in the forums. It’s a place to hang out with your fellow Grouvee members and Animal Crossing fans. Think of it as a way to share your New Horizons experiences and to potentially meet with other people looking to visit your town.

When I pre-ordered a physical copy of New Horizons, I didn't anticipate the current situation. Now it looks like I'll probably buy it from the e-shop rather than go into the store to pick it up. Too bad I didn't opt to have it shipped directly to me.

Game Mania in the Netherlands is releasing the game tomorrow, and I've been deep in thought whether I should continue with my initial plan of getting a digital copy or just go and get a physical copy delivered tomorrow.

I had to drive over 30 minutes to get it, but I was able to find an Animal Crossing Switch in stock today! I'm so happy! I've loved this franchise since I was like 10, playing the first one on GameCube. Preorders sold out like a day or two before I got paid that week, so I thought I'd missed …

I've loved this franchise since I was like 10, playing the first one on GameCube. Preorders sold out like a day or two before I got paid that week, so I thought I'd missed my chance. Now it can join my New Leaf and Happy Home Designer 3DSs. 💚💚

For this game though, I think it's better to opt for the digital version so I could easily switch to it and not need to change cartridges multiple times a day. Seriosly considering getting that two game voucher coupons for the Nintendo Switch eShop and maybe also get Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Any of y'all Grouveers pre-ordered New Horizons yet? ┬┴┬┴┤・ω・)ノ

None of the pre-order bonuses have made up my mind yet. The Game Stop poster is sorta cute tho...

I have never played any Animal Crossing game but the collective excitement over this game is contagious. I probably won't get it at launch but I'm pretty sure I'll get it some point shortly after.

So, once upon a time, I would have preordered the new Switch system right away, but as a more responsible adult, I was waiting for pay day, and... It's sold out everywhere. :(

This seems fun:

Payers can only create one island per Switch, even if they create more user accounts or buy extra copies of the game. Their save data will also be locked to the Switch it started on, with no transfers allowed between consoles. Payers can only create one island per Switch, even if they create more user accounts or buy extra copies of the game. Their save data will also be locked to the Switch it started on, with no transfers allowed between consoles. New Horizons will not support cloud saves, although Nintendo is working on a save data backup feature for the game that will launch at some unspecified point in the future.

Nintendo did not respond to a request for comment to clarify if the description was accurate, but did update the game’s Japanese website today, confirming the information on the German download card. “This game’s save data does not support ‘Transfer User Data’ or ‘Transfer Save Data’ functions,” reads the text, translated by Kotaku. “If you own two consoles, please be aware that you cannot move your island from the console on which it was originally created.”
