I said that this was the Mass Effect 2 of the series weeks ago when I was still in the first act of the game... I was correct.

Decided to drop out the game due to graphical glitch/bug that makes it unplayable.

Had 15 hours in , glitch and bug appear after patch.

I guess im kinda halfway there, but from what ive experienced i had to give it 3/10

Oh boy, despite my problems with the game’s limited mechanical systems and somewhat dull combat that was stretched incredibly thin by the end of the game, that ending killed me. I won’t share what happened but it hit me hard, right in the feels.

Somehow performance on GeForce Now has worsened, and only on GeForce Now. There’s been no change in performance on my home computer. Not loving the service from GeForce Now these days.

That moment when you flirt with Taash and they pin your Rook to the wall lives in my head rent free

Being granted the choice to let one of your companions become a literal lich seems kind of wild when your whole aim as a team is to defeat the kind of evil embodied by a litch.

Ooh, but these are nice friendly cozy liches and Emmerich is such a sweet old man, so it’s ok.

I get that it’s just a status effect, but I really think skeletons should be immune to bleeding.

Getting that itch to wrap things up and move on. It's a feeling I kind of dread, especially when I've largely been having fun, because it means that fun is starting to wear thin. My gut says this might not join the list of games I immediately replayed this year, and that would be an unfortunate personal first for a BioWare game. I love the characters but I get the feeling that there won't be a material difference in the choices I'd make in a second run nor do I think the combat is satisfying enough to carry me through a second run.

So if I have this right:

1. Mythal wants to take physical form. She asks Solas to join her.

2. Taking physical form causes fuckery with the Titans.

3. War between the elves and Titans ensues. Solas creates a weapon that basically mass lobotomizes the entire Titan race and creates the Blight.

4. War ends with the defeat of the …

4. War ends with the defeat of the Titans but the Evanuris refuse to give up their power.

5. The Evanuris use the Blight at will and Solas asks Mythal to make them stop.

6. Mythal is killed by the Evanuris.

7. Solas starts the rebellion.

8. The rebellion ends with Solas creating the Veil.

9. The creation of the Veil goes awry somehow.

10. Solas wants to undo the Veil. He talks to Mythal and kills her to get her powers.

Holy shit.

If you comment, don't spoil any further than right after the siege of Weisshaupt please!

Solas answer to my question about his relationship to the Inquisitor stung slightly, given how close my Inquisitor was with him. It's not the end of the world, but it does make me pine for my favourite run of that game and the way I left things at the end of Trespasser.

That, with the shift to the ME3 style combat and basic tier upgrades to weapons really make me feel like BioWare thought the safest path back to success after Anthem was to return to the ME Trilogy approach to level, story and combat design.
