Found a setup that builds infinite MP by just casting the same ability over and over. And Rook's invincible the whole time, so I guess that's kinda the end? It's always been a stumbling block for the series, but it's still a bummer when a game's combat runs out of ideas halfway through.

After one of the most tedious optional dragon fights I've seen lately, my big reward was the single worst piece of armor I've found in the game so far!

Having heavy armor nerf your damage output is so bizarre. Like, I understand it's supposed to be a trade-off for the extra damage reduction, but why would I ever care about that in a game that constantly hands out free invincibility.

Question for people playing The Veilguard: which companion has the nicest “room” in your opinion? Which room would you take for yourself. I’m torn. Davrin’s room is super cozy, with its giant fireplace, comfy chair and view. Harding’s room is full of growth and I love the concept of a forest inside a room. Emmerich’s room is a …

Emmerich’s room is a beautiful library with a winding staircase. And while it’s not a practical bedroom, there’s something appealing about Lucanis’ kitchen.

So I'm playing as a Shadow Dragon rogue in DAV, and for roleplaying, I decided to romance Neve. That means I'm locked out of romancing Taash, who I am totally smitten with. So I'm playing as a Shadow Dragon rogue in DAV, and for roleplaying, I decided to romance Neve. That means I'm locked out of romancing Taash, who I am totally smitten with. I want to take them with everywhere, every time. And I've also found rogue combat to be less engaging than I'd hoped it would be. So I started a new playthrough as a Grey Warden warrior and I'm going to romance Taash on this one. The farthest I got in my original playthrough was winning over the support of Mythal which is pretty far but you know how it is: your first time through is the most special, so I want to complete the game the first time through doing whatever I want, and warrior combat feels superb. Much more enjoyable. It's been a little bit of work to retread the old ground given how far I got and how much time I spent on that first character - which I will return to after completing the game once - but this feels a lot better. I should have tried out the different classes before committing to one!

Lucanis really likes retracting bridges from underneath me as I'm coming back from secret places. At this point I'm sure it's just Spite....

Huge stretch of nothing going on in the Lighthouse, and then suddenly I unlocked 11 different cutscenes at the exact same time. Feels like that could've been paced out better, but it's all interesting stuff so I'm not too bothered.

I swear that Illario and Elek Tavor have the same character model (with minor differences), and the result is I continually mix the two up and wonder why Illario keeps showing up in Minrathous and putting on a different accent 😂

Devrin’s inability to hold aggro really makes him a petty lousy tank. It’s kind of wild that this game gives DPS such a massive advantage that rolling three DPS that dole out massive damage is almost always preferable to bringing along a tank.

Has anyone else experienced their ultimate reverting to the default one? I’m not sure what the actually trigger is, but I think k it happens when I start a new mission. I always have to go back into my character sheet and change the ultimate assignment.

"Mythal's last host was a woman wronged, trapped by those sworn to love her. We may readily imagine their kinship."

I know this refers to the events of Inquisition but

WHAT IF ANDRASTE WAS HOST TO MYTHAL TOO

Just reached a part in Veilguard where we're getting some serious lore dumps. Answers to questions I've had since the very first game. This is what we waited all these years for. It was worth it. A strong sentiment in literary anlysis that seems to be popular - and that I agree with more often than not - is that it's better to leave mysteries unanswered because our minds' imaginations will always do a better job answering these questions than writers can. For once, it feels like that's not entirely the case. I'm enthralled by the answers. I'll be chewing on them for a while. Just like I'll be chewing on this game for a while.

I tend to share updates on games, but I haven't had as many thoughts I've wanted to write down as with Veilguard. Truly, the last time I kept what could be considered some kind of journal is when I played Mass Effect 3. That says something.

Also I started out being really irritated by the dialogue of Taash, and now, I love it. Now that I've gotten over that jarred feeling, I cannot get enough of them. Again, it may be premature, but I think right now, Taash is my favorite BioWare character. Sorry, Garrus. It's been fun, but my tall chiseled champion awaits me.

I realize now that Dragon Age The Veilguard is pure fantasy escapism.
