Expansion of World of Warcraft

When I think about an MMORPG, I think about a world you can get lost in, a world where forming parties is essential to reach your destination. I haven't really played WoW before the release of Classic but I did play both Runescape and Maple Story in the past, so I had experience with the genre. I was hoping to find something similar, but sadly both the company responsible for WoW and the philosophy of gamers today have warped the experience I was looking into something I can no longer agree with.
Things have started to escalate ever since the release of Classic back in 2019. Bots everywhere, gold sellers, the raids that should've been "night with the boys" and instead became a bidding war, the passes that allowed you to skip leveling (for a price of course)...little by little these things were getting to me. Blizzard adding the WoW token into the game was the final nail in the coffin for me. Instead of trying to deal with a legit big problem that is the gold-selling websites, Blizzard decided to compete with them. Why bother leveling, when you can buy a pass and skip 90% of the leveling journey? …

Screw it, why even play the damn game when you can just bot?
I'm aware that this is basically me ranting and that there will be players that will not agree with me. If, despite everything I mentioned, there are players that enjoy the game then that's fine. We all have our own concept of fun, it just so happens that my views are different now. I have officially parted ways with this game, since I don't even play the modern version. It's just sad that my reasons for leaving the game have nothing to do with the game itself, a game that I personally really liked.
