AFTER MONTHS OF PROCRASTINATION, THE VIDEO ON BEST GAME OF 2024 YELLOW TAXI GOES VROOM IS OUT NOW !!!
The greatest modern collect-a thon I've played since A Hat in Time from 2018. The humor of this game is absolutely unparalleled and I found myself laughing out loud at many of the jokes throughout the game. I will admit, the controls and movement felt really weird at first, but once it clicks, it CLICKS. After that point, doing stuff in game felt natural and logical, and that's when the truly unlocks. There are a lot of after story options and challenges after the story that increase the playtime by about a third (similar to Mario Odyssey) that makes the ending not feel as sad to suddenly say goodbye to the fantastic gameplay loop and feel. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for a game like A Hat in Time that wears its references, humor, and heart on its sleeve.
I'm going to be real. There has never been a day without me thinking about how the best game of 2024, Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom, is one of the greatest 3D platformers I have ever played in my life. It's genuinely one of those very rare games that lives rent free in my mind a year after it came out. Every time I play CloverPit, I think of how the same guys made the best game of 2024 and wish that it got much more attention. The reason this running gag has been going on is because it is a game I want to get so much more love than it already has.
If you missed out on the 60% sale a few days ago, fret not because the Steam Autumn sale has now discounted this to 50% off. It's now $8.50 which is still a steal. Absolutely essential buy for the Steam Autumn sale. If you're getting into CloverPit as well, please play Panik Arcade's previous and best game, the best game of 2024, Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom.

The end of the year is imminent. With it comes one announcement:
GO PLAY THE BEST GAME OF 2024, YELLOW TAXI GOES VROOM! GRAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
New game coming from the devs of best game of 2024, Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom.
Here's a preview of my next video about how this game is peak. Preview is a brief on tank controls and why tank controls make sense here. Slice is still WIP.
Got a ROG Ally out of an impulse buy since the Z1 Extreme one was on sale. First thing I did was obviously do a 5th completionist playthrough. Game was just too good that this beibg played portably was one of the reasons for me to get one. Video on this one will be done soon.

New update came with a Crazy Taxi-like level where you only have to drive passengers. Do gears. Just driving 39 passengers while the clock ticks down. It is challenging to get down as satisfaction levels are very strict, but it's so much fun. Probably the hardest challenge in the game. Even as someone who is experienced with the base game, this got me doing it for like 6 tries until I delivered everyone. Still my GOTY post-Shadow of the Erdtree. Get it while it is on sale.
THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM! SUB 3 HOURS, BAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! THE REEEEEAL BEST GAME OF 2024!

Game so goddamn good that I 100% completed it twice. I take it back. This is my game of the year. 2nd run was a bit over 4 hours, but if I died less and knew what I was missing, then I could have had 3.5 hours or less. Still that's less than half the time it took for me to 100% it first go so not too bad for a speedrun attempt.

That was a lot of fun, even if it could do a better job of teaching you advanced techniques. The game dramatically improves once you understand how to do a double backflip consistently. Density of content surprised me, I beat it after 15 hours without even touching an entire level. That's twice as long as I'd have expected the game to be, even if a lot of that time was spent fighting against the intentionally awkward controls. All the choices are very deliberate, but it's still ultimately a 3D platformer with tank controls.
All the same, Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom is easily worth the modest asking price. I'm glad I picked it up.
Just thinking about this game is making me want to 100% it again. I'm like an hour in and I'm like 50% through conpletion. This game is just too good.
This would easily be my GOTY if Balatro isn't taking over my life. One of my new favorite 3D platformers.
3D platformers have been killing it recently. Penny's Big Breakway, Pseudoregalia, Corn Kidz 64, and now Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom! I'm in love with this game's level design and movement right now. The way that some levels have a timer and little quests like Crazy Taxi is such a perfect way of incentivizing players to get good and find skips. So different as there is no jump, yet there is such a skill ceiling with some really cool tech for speedrunning and for completionists. This superdash is so cool, right after the wind up you accelerate and get a big jump and doing so up slopes opens you up. Really sick walljump too. Seems like a challenge, but I am so down to complete this.
