Never liked supergiants approach to a difficulty curve. Dumping all the difficulty modifiers and asking me to balance the game myself always seems like way too much choice. Finally got to the ending. It's honestly not a great ending. Everything was resolved rather abruptly and arguably off-screen. And then the contrivances to create a post-game stretched my suspension of disbelief to their limits and then some more.

I don't believe I'm going to engage with it though. From what I read, it's a lot of grinding for Nectar and I'm not sure the narrative will pay it off.

Would have probably ended up at four stars.

That iron man suit is nuts. I got these boons improving the special and Lucid Gain restored mana every time I casted. So I just destroyed everything by casting + omega special from afar. Plus my loyal cat, of course.

Oh, boy. Got one of those broken builds that make this kind of game so compelling. Gathered a bunch of mana, then a boom that added extra life proportional to mana, and a couple that added damage to my omegas but with increased mana cost (that I had plenty). So I was using mana a lot, so then came a Selene boom, which since I was using so much mana, I could trigger every 5 seconds or so. Add some ice powerups to my casting and I could freeze everyone in place while I charged a bunch of omegas on their asses.

Cut through the surface levels like a warm knife through butter on my first go without the curse. I got pretty far into Olympus until I fucked it up and got killed.

This is the attention to detail that makes Supergiant such a great developer: You can see your booms by pressing left on the d-pad. Also, some items can increase the rarity of random booms. If you press left right after grabbing one of those items, the boom menu autoselects the one that was randomly selected. That's just peak QoL.

Excited to use the other weapons and encounter more boon variations. Not sure if this excitement would last a handful of runs though as I am already starting to feel the repetitiveness. I should probably go to the surface more but I don't have the ingredients for the incantation to breathe there yet.

Brought death to Chronos for the first time, and I'm happy and satisfied. Was using the great axe, which I struggled with in my first run of the day (I choose whichever has the bone bonus). In any case, all weapons have grown to me and so has all the gods' boons except Hermes's.
