Beat partly in slow motion mode, which I used for bosses and the later stages. This game was very similar to the previous. The Mega Man stage select screen was replaced by the guy riding his hover bike between each entrance. Was was technically more impressive but less charming. Tbe stages were strictly linear with no optional paths. At most there was a bonus power up on a screen that was slightly out of the way. Combat was the same but instead of bombs and the iron man suit there were 4 suits with unique abilities that required energy to use and shoot. There was quite a bit of tactical depth for whether to use a suit. They helped with platforming, which was significantly expanded compared to the 1st game, and provided a great offensive boost, but you wanted to save enough energy for the bosses because each suit kind of countered a boss. I missed the ceiling/wall sticking suit in stage 1 somehow and could see how it would counter the water boss. The water suit made underwater areas much easier but was only usable against the water boss, and was not the best choice. The rocket suit allowed …

The rocket suit allowed flight, which was amazing for platforming but not sure which boss it countered the best (walkthrough said ninja boss if you hover near the center). Orb guy and the twins were easily defeated with the boomerang and slide dashes. The orb suit had little options (that dumb term from shoot em ups) that flew around intercepting enemy projectiles. It countered the Ninja boss (who kicked my ass hard without it due to how fast he moved) and the later bosses. Stages 1 to 4 were done in any order. If playing again I'd probably do 1, 2, 4, 3. Stages 5 and 6 were done back to back and were the toughest, including a boss gauntlet before the final boss. There was free healing and energy restore between each, and the final boss was very easy. Still a fun well made game but made trade offs with stage select aesthetic and linear stage design for more intricate platforming and fun suits.
