GOTY contender for me

I am so glad I decided to buy this game on release day and pay almost full price for it. (Steam gives a little discount for new releases). I usually don't buy games on day one, and even less pay full price, but in this case I decided to take a risk and try it out. I had seen the trailers for it a couple of times and was very interested. The game looked like something I would enjoy: a horror game, made out of clay, giving Tim Burton vibes. Yep, a game made for me.
Well, I was not disappointed. There are not enough good things I can say about this game. You can feel the love and care they put into this game.
Let's start with the looks. The developers created this game from scratch, and it is basically handmade. All the characters and environments are made out of clay. This gives the game a unique look and feeling, and the movement of the NPC's show it (not in a bad way). It is creepy and beautiful at the same time, and I wished I could have been able to explore more of it.
The sound, voice acting and music are of supreme quality. The all come together with the story telling and bring this dark world alive. It's perfect!
The only things I would mention that could improve is that the game is very dark! I mean, it is called The Midnight Walk, but sometimes a bit of shine in general would help. In terms of performance, I only experience two bugs. In one of the I got stuck inside a hiding spot and couldn't get out. I had to restart the game, but thankfully the checkpoints in this game are very forgiving. The second one was a bug where I could not cross a bridge, but if I walk over to the left of the bridge, it was fine.
In this day and age where the entertainment industry is relying more and more on AI generate art and content, and I am more than happy to support a game that is almost entirely handcrafted. From the sculptures, to the voice acting, and music.
