Fun & stylish little game
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

Bloodroots piqued my interest back when it was released, because of its art style and color, but not enough to set everything aside for it. Now that I have Xbox Game Pass for a little while (and a dodgy internet connection...) I finally prioritized this little game over much else - and I'm glad I did :)

It's not an revolutionary or amazing game by any means, but it's just a cool looking top-down action "puzzler", much like Hotline Miami I imagine (as I haven't played it).

It starts to slowly wear out its welcome past the 3 hour mark, but thankfully it doesn't take long for it to end after that. That sounds harsh, but it's not meant to be. It was an entertaining 4 hours I had with the game till I saw credits. It has a lot of personality.

You should definitely check it out if you happen to have Xbox Game Pass :)

It gets samey too fast.

I don't really know what to say about this game. The art style and the music are okay, nothing to criticize about those. I can't tell much about the story since the gameplay is boring that I couldn't care less to go through it. It feels like a mobile game, with quite dumb mechanics and not much to enjoy about it.

Hard. Just hard
This review is for the Nintendo Switch version

There's a pretty interesting , short, story hidden here with an obvious twist, some fun mayhem and amusing dialogue. You wouldn't know it because it's hidden behind a wall of difficulty. It starts out just kinda hard and quickly ramps up to obscene as it demands very precise timing and quick reaction times out of you. It's actually very short but you'll be spending dozens of hours on failure.

Hotline Miami + The Revenant + Samurai Jack

Intense action, lots of humor, an spaghetti western setting (and I LOVE spaghetti western), high difficulty and a surprisingly interesting story. It feels like this game was made for me! It even has a group of villians that could be from a *Metal Gear Solid* game! he he he. ![![][1]][1] It got frustrating at times, made me force my vision a little in the Switch screen and I actually wished it was a little longer, but I loved it.
