I've already talked a little about this game before, but I finally wrote a full review when I go deeper about its mechanics and politics.
As usual, it's in spanish. You can read it on GamerFocus.
Thanks again to @bmo for giving me this game so I could analyze it.
I got assassinated in the middle of my second term, but in a satisfying way. Democracy series, take notes!
Wow, I got to live through my dream government, I can't believe it... if only it was true T_T
really obvious choices (at least to me lol) and once you play it a couple times you can pretty much get the optimal outcome very time, but I also played this for like two hours last night so it definitely worked on me.
I'm gonna write a full review of this game for GamerFocus next week, but let me give you some impressions meanwhile.
(Again, thanks a lot to @bmo for giving me this game)
You probably already know that this is a Reigns-like game. You make a choice about something by moving a card left (no) or right (yes). Your choices have consequences.
That said. Yes, this game actually reflects socialist policies and how those will affect the world. You can pass medicare for all, legalize pot, fuck the military (hell yeah!) and reduce carbon emissions. Sounds great! Right? well, that costs money and your budget is not infinite. Also, you can see how your popularity goes with the people and what issues make them support you or vote against you. If you don't try to keep most people happy and don't care for the budget, you'll lose seats in the congress and lose reelection.
Even decisions that didn't seem to make a big effect can come for you later. In one game, I didn't have money, so I accept a proposal from a corporate lobbyist that didn't seem to affect my popularity or increase carbon emmisions a lot, but a …

Even decisions that didn't seem to make a big effect can come for you later. In one game, I didn't have money, so I accept a proposal from a corporate lobbyist that didn't seem to affect my popularity or increase carbon emmisions a lot, but a few turns later it was the root of an scandal that made me lose a lot of popularity. I had to play carefully then so I could get reelected. (Thanks to some voters changing minds because of my previous choices)

That's cool and all, but the binary nature of the choices make them a little unreal sometimes. It's not very deep. I'm great actions have consequences and doesn't show socialism like an absolute evil or the second coming of god, but the policies are not well explained and there's a lot is not telling about those.
I didn't like you can't save your game, that every early game is practically similar. Also, it's a shame this game is not on mobile. It would be perfect on your phone. I would also like to see more global issues being represented. I'm not from USA, but I keep informed about politics in that country. That made me enjoy the game. A person less interested in that wouldn't understand a thing.
Anyway, cool game. Will write more about it later and thanks again to @bmo.
Democratic Socialism Simulator is now in the database (thanks Peter). You no longer have an excuse to not join the glorious proletariat revolution.
