Main game

I enjoyed this light Zelda-like quite a bit. Its story is simple but compelling, the enemies and environments are really well realized as pixel art, and the soundtrack punches far above its weight. The main game's twists surprised me, and the side quests motivated me to explore more of the map than I would have otherwise.
If I had to complain, there's something a bit over-rendered and doll-like about the dialogue portrait sprites... I'd have loved for them to look more like the main sprites or the marketing artwork. I also wish there were more attack options... most of my abilities were defensive, which made combat a tad repetitive.
This was a fun, little, bite-sized adventure game! I always appreciate when there are difficulty settings to make the experience more enjoyable for the player if they are more interested in the story over the combat. There was a plot to follow, but it wasn't as strong as some other games I have played that are similar to this. Even still, that didn't take away from this being a fun game and the nature of the storyline feeling less involved made it a great game to play while listening to a podcast. I think the art style was charming, and the mechanics felt pretty good on Switch, even if the targeting/hitting the enemies didn't always feel totally accurate. The only thing missing that would have helped me a ton was a mini-map. If you want a light adventure game with a story that doesn't take too much brain power to follow, this is a great choice!
