Lovely pixel horror movie themed puzzle game

This was an early game by the makers of An English Haunting, a game that I played last year and really enjoyed. This one is very similar; combining inventory items with the environment, dialogue options, and multiple locations to solve puzzles and advance the game.

The puzzles are largely solvable. I don't recall coming across any that made no sense whatsoever, though some required thinking a bit/trying multiple options/checking a walkthrough. The game is pretty short. I finished it under 6 hours.

The story is really cool. It makes use of an established horror movie trope in a pretty cool way. It's a different story and a different protagonist than An English Haunting, though with a lot of similar themes. The main antagonist who shows up at the end is a little bit of a lame reveal but I'll forgive that as its short.

I played it on Steam Deck and it worked great. I never faced an issue of not being able to find a clickable spot on screen even with the smaller screen. A good game.

This fulfills the N for my Grouvee alphabet challenge.

I absolutely loved it. The locations are great, from an older Hollywood with quirky film industry folks to a horrific small town soaked in tragedy, and without spoilers, some insane nightmares.

The writing is so good. The puzzles are the perfect level of difficulty. Besides a few typos (I believe it’s originally a Spanish game?), it’s pretty much perfect. I haven’t loved a game in this genre so much since The Excavation of Hob’s Burrow.

Play it!
