ChromaGun is a first person puzzler about colors. The basic principle is as easy as applying it is complex: exit the chambers via the exit doors. Use the ChromaGun to colorize walls and WorkerDroids to progress in the chambers. WorkerDroids (the players' main cause of headaches in ChromaGun) are attracted to walls of the same color and can be used for a variety of tasks like opening doors, activating triggers or removing the danger of deadly electrified floor-tiles by mercilessly sacrificing them. ChromaGun encompasses eight chapters of mind-melting puzzles and witty background-narrative.

Derivative and bad

Chromagun is a portal-clone through and through but with bad puzzles you can permanently fail just by pressing the wrong button and very bad writting.

I've only played some of them, but the puzzles are just thoroughly boring and uninspired. They revolve around painting walls in order to attract these flying balls so they hover over the correct triggers. They are incredibly simple-minded, tedious and fragile. Failstates that force you to reset each chamber can be reached by the press of a button almost from anywhere.

The "humour" follows the same exact structure as Portal. Enter chamber, disembodied voice spews some dialogue, silently solve puzzle, disembodied voice congratulates you. The jokes are delivered by a GLaDOS emulator whose decent voice performance is not enough to elevate the terrible material.

Toss it into the incinerator.
