All of the Vampire Survivor and off shoot games inspired me to play through Crimsonland for the first time in nearly 20 years. All of the Vampire Survivor and off shoot games inspired me to play through Crimsonland for the first time in nearly 20 years. I think there are better options for twin-stick shooters and arena survival games these days (many of them by Crimsonland's creators!) but it's still a solid experience and the nostalgia hits hard. None of the more modern games I've played focus so heavily on limited-time power ups, so it still has an enjoyable, frantic style all its own.
I'll probably chip away at the hardcore levels and survival mode achievements here and there for a while yet.
