Intro
Originally this was Epic's attempt at making Hearthstone with League of Legends characters. Eventually they dropped support for PVP and instead focused on their roguelike mode, Path of Champions. Similar to Slay The Spire or Monster Train, you pick a starting hero and play through a campaign in which you earn temporary and permanent upgrades.

Conclusion
If you enjoy MTG, Hearthstone or any other deckbuilding card game you will almost certainly enjoy this. I kind of forced myself to quit so i would play other games. And also because this will be gone some day like The Elder Scrolls Legends, Duel of Champions, SolForge, Scrolls, et cetera.
I come from Magic the Gathering and I've tried other card games like Hearthstone and Eternal. But Legends of Runeterra is really the best, even though it's young so it has only 3 sets out far. Gameplay is truly tactical and great and the economy system is amazingly F2P friendly and fair. I've played 300+ hours so far and I'm Master ranked since the open beta
Never thought a card game could be so friendly to users who doesn't want to play. The cards looks amazing and are even better designed. There are some imperfections, but the experience already is absolutely worth and addictive. If you are a fan of card games and league of legends then this is a must play.
Very fun and addictive, though I am admittedly not very good at it so I rarely played PvP at all. I enjoyed the Path of Champions instead. I like the interactions of the summoned characters — even the minor ones! — and like how it kind of adds to the lore. I also just absolutely love browsing through the skins (which is the one constant thing I do on all of Riot's games; really glad they decided to diversify and create new types of games for fans of their characters but just can't stand the MOBA world any longer lol).
I miss Expedition mode so much =(
It was a mode where you build your deck by drafting and so do your opponents. Therefore, no repetitive copy-pasted meta decks, crazy plays, and a lot of variety.
I don't even want to play the usual mode because while I'll try to come up with my own decks, other players will just copy the most effective decks from guides and demolish me. That makes deck experimentation quite punishing, in my opinion.
Next gen Yu-Gi-Oh and MtG. Very fun, though I am admittedly not very good at it so I rarely played PvP at all. I enjoyed the Path of Champions instead. I like the interactions of the summoned characters — even the minor ones! — and like how it kind of adds to the lore. I also just absolutely love browsing through the skins (which is the one constant thing I do on all of Riot's games lol).
Blimey, this game is like crack!
Wanted something a bit casual just for a bit of fun. Didn't fancy Hearthstone, I used to play very casually about 7 years back but didn't fancy revisiting it. Thought I'd try Runeterra instead, as there are a lot of positive reviews for it out there.
Collectable card games have never really been my thing, but blimey does this thing keep you hooked in. The interface is so slick and the atmosphere / visuals are infectious. Seconds later you're locked into that "just one more game" thing, 3-4 hours later you say to yourself "I must stop playing.... soon.... 'ish". I'm not even that good, in fact I'm rubbish!!! (can beat the AI, but against player I've won 2 games out of roughly 40 !!!!).
I'm torn between really enjoying the game to deleting it from my iPad to get my life back!
Played like 100 hours. Cool game, works great on my phone and tablet.
This card battling game which allegedly is connected to the League of Legends universe (I wouldn’t really know but it seems cool) is a real joy to play so far. I like this a fair bit more than all the other similar games I’ve tried, including Hearthstone. It’s so easy to get into. In no time I was able to put together a competent deck and win some online matches. The strategy element is really fun, with some neat synergies between cards and different types of decks you can build. The game is also really nice to look at, and unlike Riot’s other hot new turn-based game, Team Fight Tactics, it has a real iPad version that’s not just a blown up phone app. From the beginner’s perspective, leveling up and fleshing out my collection of cards is really fun. I would really recommend this game for its low price of... 0. One of my top 5 most fun new games so far this year.
