Amazing roguelike deck-builder

Playtime: 1610 hours

Intro

Originally this was Epic's attempt at making Hearthstone with League of Legends characters. Eventually they dropped support for PVP and instead focused on their roguelike mode, Path of Champions. Similar to Slay The Spire or Monster Train, you pick a starting hero and play through a campaign in which you earn temporary and permanent upgrades.

The Good

  • Fun, quick gameplay with a lot of depth.
  • Dozens of heroes that often play very differently.
  • 10+ campaigns.
  • Lots of different enemies, rules, cards and upgrades.
  • Free-to-play.

The Bad

  • It's online so will go away eventually.
  • Unlocking new heroes may take a while if you're new.

The Ugly

  • It's kind of pay-to-win. You can get pretty far for free but much of the newer content requires "upgrade items" that are hard to get without paying for them.

Conclusion

If you enjoy MTG, Hearthstone or any other deckbuilding card game you will almost certainly enjoy this. I kind of forced myself to quit so i would play other games. And also because this will be gone some day like The Elder Scrolls Legends, Duel of Champions, SolForge, Scrolls, et cetera.

Dynamic and rarely frustrating.

Never thought a card game could be so friendly to users who doesn't want to play. The cards looks amazing and are even better designed. There are some imperfections, but the experience already is absolutely worth and addictive. If you are a fan of card games and league of legends then this is a must play.

Next gen Yu-Gi-Oh and MtG

Very fun and addictive, though I am admittedly not very good at it so I rarely played PvP at all. I enjoyed the Path of Champions instead. I like the interactions of the summoned characters — even the minor ones! — and like how it kind of adds to the lore. I also just absolutely love browsing through the skins …

I like the interactions of the summoned characters — even the minor ones! — and like how it kind of adds to the lore. I also just absolutely love browsing through the skins (which is the one constant thing I do on all of Riot's games; really glad they decided to diversify and create new types of games for fans of their characters but just can't stand the MOBA world any longer lol).

Best digital card game on the market

I come from Magic the Gathering and I've tried other card games like Hearthstone and Eternal. But Legends of Runeterra is really the best, even though it's young so it has only 3 sets out far. Gameplay is truly tactical and great and the economy system is amazingly F2P friendly and fair. I've played 300+ hours so far and I'm …
