I miss Expedition mode so much =(
It was a mode where you build your deck by drafting and so do your opponents. Therefore, no repetitive copy-pasted meta decks, crazy plays, and a lot of variety.

I don't even want to play the usual mode because while I'll try to come up with my own decks, other players will just copy the most effective decks from guides and demolish me. That makes deck experimentation quite punishing, in my opinion.

Next gen Yu-Gi-Oh and MtG. Very fun, though I am admittedly not very good at it so I rarely played PvP at all. I enjoyed the Path of Champions instead. Blimey, this game is like crack!
Wanted something a bit casual just for a bit of fun. Didn't fancy Hearthstone, I used to play very casually about 7 years back but didn't fancy revisiting it. Thought I'd try Runeterra instead, as there are a lot of positive reviews for it out there.

Collectable card games have never really been my thing, but blimey does this thing keep you hooked in. The interface is so slick and the atmosphere / visuals are infectious. Seconds later you're locked into that "just one more game" thing, 3-4 hours later you say to yourself "I must stop playing.... soon.... 'ish". I'm not even that good, in fact I'm rubbish!!! (can beat the AI, but against player I've won 2 games out of roughly 40 !!!!).
I'm torn between really enjoying the game to deleting it from my iPad to get my life back!

This card battling game which allegedly is connected to the League of Legends universe (I wouldn’t really know but it seems cool) is a real joy to play so far. I like this a fair bit more than all the other similar games I’ve tried, including Hearthstone. It’s so easy to get into. In no time I was able to put together a competent deck and win some online matches. The strategy element is really fun, with some neat synergies between cards and different types of decks you can build. The game is also really nice to look at, and unlike Riot’s other hot new turn-based game, Team Fight Tactics, it has a real iPad version that’s not just a blown up phone app. From the beginner’s perspective, leveling up and fleshing out my collection of cards is really fun. I would really recommend this game for its low price of... 0. One of my top 5 most fun new games so far this year.
