Goo

Truly a goo(n) type of game that reminded me of my childhood.

WoG 2 is a decent game by itself, it just has way worse writing than the first one, copies too much from it, has a convoluted story that's incoherent, and is overall a disappointment after all this time, and considering how well its predecessor was received. A lot of the levels seemed more annoying than in the first one, or maybe I've just grown older.

It's also missing features that I liked in the first game, like the flute that could call the goo balls to a specific location, or the place where you could build an infinite tower with all the goo balls collected from the levels. It just doesn't make any sense to throw away these things.

Anyway, I appreciated the new mechanics, and the twists on the old levels, to some extent, but the "story" is what really drags it down in the end. The multiple references to their past games are annoying, because they don't go anywhere. The multiple extra challenges also feel like a sad attempt to artificially lengthen the game time.

Nice sequel to a great puzzle game (even …

Nice sequel to a great puzzle game (even if the novelty wears off a little).
