Kingdom of Night is a not too difficult action/hack & dodge RPG set in a 1980s Arizona town taken over by demonic forces. It took me 22 hours to beat it, which included a fair amount of side content. There were things I didn't get and someone going for 100% could easily spend another ten or so hours, I imagine.

The story is pretty John Hughes. The protagonist is one of the 'not-cool' kids who has a crush on the school's beauty queen and begins his adventure motivated to save her. In classic 80s movie fashion, the jerk football star with a big ego is regularly humiliated by the protagonist who ends up saving the entire town and the life of his crush. There were difficult parts. Healing items are limited and there is no other way to heal damage, so I had to be careful when in some of the boss fights. In the end, however, even on normal difficulty it wasn't too bad even for me. Combat is very simple; you auto-lock onto the nearest enemy and attack them and anyone in their immediate vicinity. You dodge when an attack in coming. Rinse and repeat. It's probably not worth a replay but I had fun playing it for that time.

I played on Steam Deck. It worked flawlessly.
