Avalanche is a 2-D game of skill. You control a multi-storied platform with a spinner-knob. Your goal is to prevent the falling rocks from ever reaching the ground. There are six rows of rocks to deal with. You start with a 6-storied platform and you lose one platform per row of rocks cleared. You score points for those rocks you prevent from reaching the ground. Of course, the farther the row of rocks, the smaller and faster they become. Your ultimate goal is to get enough points so that you can continue your game should you lose your first one. … More

Fun, Early Catch the Item Arcade Game

Look: 6/10 Functional, but forgettable. Very early though with 1978!

Sound: 8/10 The beeping is annoying, but that static "avalanche" sound that slowly increases in volume--hell yeah. Becomes a noise project, basically, if you survive long enough heh. If only they didn't have those beep sound effects.

Play: 7/10 I had a lot of fun playing this, I actually felt pretty good at this! Of course, the difficulty keeps increasing and eventually I gave in, but it was a lot of fun. Play this if you enjoy the catch the item type arcade games, almost feels like Breakout at times. The controls are almost too responsive, but I shouldn't count that against it since I'm not playing on an original arcade machine so it's unfair to include that.

Feel: 7/10 Fun, great arcade game, not one of my favorites though.

Attachment: 7/10 I will probly only replay this if I am going through old arcade games. It definitely would make the list of better arcade games, but not a favorite.
