Not as good as the first, but still fun

Platform:

Neo Geo Arcade version.

Graphics/Sound:

This is one of the examples where I don't really know why, but the graphics suck in comparison to the first game. It's just that weird polygonized 2d look that turns me down. It's kind of like KKND2 which I also found had very bad graphics. Only here it's not as bad, it's still …

Graphics/Sound:

This is one of the examples where I don't really know why, but the graphics suck in comparison to the first game. It's just that weird polygonized 2d look that turns me down. It's kind of like KKND2 which I also found had very bad graphics. Only here it's not as bad, it's still decent and the animations are quite fluid. The sound has some involuntary humor to it with all the Japanese accent on the English voices.

Gameplay:

The gameplay didn't change much since the first, only that the dodging roll is now a jump, but it serves the same purpose: dodging bullets. The powerup system has seen some finetuning, but I didn't feel much difference with upgraded or non upgraded first weapon. I can't be sure since I only played through it once, but I think it has different endings based on the performance at the last boss.

Difficulty:

The game is easier than say Metal Slug, for several reasons. There is the dodge bullet button which dodges quite easily some directly aimed shots, there is a life bar so no one hit deaths.

Conclusion:

It's still a great top down action shooter, a genre of which I don't know that many good games. Don't expect the same style as in the first game, or you might be disappointed. And of course this is better played in co-op.
