I had no idea til doing some reading just now, but apparently this is a ground-up remake of a Doom II mod. Definitely got OG Doom vibes from the lightning fast walk speed, but other than that, I would have had no idea.
I have had to upgrade my PC's power supply, CPU and motherboard over the last couple of years, but it's become apparent my 1060 just can't keep up with even indie games at 1080p anymore. Definitely time for an upgrade. I barely use my PC for gaming, and the 5700XT seems to fill a perfect balance of large upgrade and low price (around $200CDN). Probably gonna pick one up used, maybe even pick one up today on eBay. Gonna scroll around local classifieds first, but it's kinda cool to find something that makes the upgrade feel worth it.
