man, this fanchise has come a LONG way since I played the first one as a kid. I feel like this version is...maybe a little needlessly complex, though. like I shouldn't have to navigate though multiple layers of menus to do basic stuff like refill a feeding station or see my animals' stats. Played during free trial of xbox game pass. Took a look at the campaign and every level has a time limit; nope sandbox mode it is. I built a decent profitable zoo but I hated having to get my hands dirty by manually cleaning up poop and repairing stuff. I play a tycoon game to be a tycoon; to watch my minions do my orchestrated masterplanned bidding. So I tried to hire zookeepers to get that work done for me but there is no kind of feedback about whether or not there are enough. I had a full team from one zookeeper building, surely that would be enough to service a fairly small zoo. But as I sat back and watched to see how things would play out, my animals kept getting sick and taken from me. Ok, I am not playing this any more. This game needs far more user friendly tycoon elements and far less of the nonsense manual labor, going around playing with/feeding animals in first person, taking photos and doing silly mini games.
