Putting Pokemon Ultra Moon to bed and started Bastion yesterday. Playing on my Switch mobile-style. I've heard so many good things about this game but I have to say, the first hour or so is not what I expected. Didn't really wake up with that craving like I usually do after starting a new game. We'll see how this goes.

This game is officially completed! The last time I finished a game may have been with Journey or Uncharted 1, which was back in July. Feeling good, feeling ready to finish some of those loose end games (Lyne, Shovel Knight, Transistor, Hotline Miami).

Finally got back into this after at least a couple years. Very nice game with a good assortment of weapons and combat tricks. I'm particularly enjoying countering with the shield and smashing with the hammer.

One more core to go!

Bastion has a lot of really interesting elements, and I enjoyed playing it. But I don't think I quite "get" the game on the same level that others do.

I loved the artstyle, the depth of gameplay styles this game allowed, and the music. What really draws you in was the narrator, though... I smashed everything in sight just to see if I could get him to blurt out a hidden line about something. The game wasn't particularly long, so a good weekend might see you through the storyline …

I smashed everything in sight just to see if I could get him to blurt out a hidden line about something. The game wasn't particularly long, so a good weekend might see you through the storyline depending on how fast you want to push. Though if it were me, I'd take my time and enjoy the experience with this title.

Playing Bastion on iPad with a SteelSeries bluetooth controller. Using the controller makes the game a 1000x better than the crappy onscreen virtual joystick. Hoping to find a lot more games supporting the joystick as this is a great portable gaming setup. Anyone have any other games to recommend?

- I'm not one to boast about gameplay that much. But frankly, Bastion has a tiring and over-repetitive combat which doesn't even feel a tad bit rewarding most of the time. Or even challenging, for that matter.

- Decent storytelling, but that's just as far as it goes.

- Good aesthetics.

Not an inherently bad game in my humble opinion, but gets way more recognition than what it actually deserves. At least in my opinion, anyway.
