Tunic achieves a balance between exploration and challenge that I find very satisfying. It does something that’s not necessarily original, but it is rare if you don’t enjoy the demands of the hardest of hard boss fights. Tunic provides you an avenue that lets you focus almost exclusively on exploration, puzzle solving, cipher decoding and item collection toward a viable alternative goal. You can’t skip bosses but you do have tools to mitigate the difficulty through game settings. But there’s more to it than that. It’s very satisfying and going to tick some serious boxes for some. I’ll touch on it more in my review but having completed the main story and extras save for one achievement, I’m very impressed with Tunic.
