Tried this out on PC, using my xbox account rather than steam. I decided to start with survival mode, and oh man was that a bad idea. Needless to say, I failed hard. Then I started on normal mode and spent a couple hours learning how to play. I got a guided fat man and tuned alien blaster from the starter loot boxes. Talk about starting off OP; I sent 2 level 1 dwellers out into the waste with those and they wrecked the place. I kind of think a level 1 newb with a fat man would likely kill himself with it though....

Then I started a new survival mode and got 2 intelligent dwellers from the starter loot boxes; exactly what was needed to succeed in survival mode though I am sure it is possible to succeed without that. From then on I played both vaults simultaneously; only loading the game up for a short while each day. The strategy required for each one is different (mainly because I could not afford to send anyone out into the wasteland on survival mode for a LONG time due to lack of decent weapons), though the normal mode vault is doing better and the survival one is more fullfilling. Both vaults have around 70-80 dwellers, though after playing for a week or so the game is just a chore. Beyond the challenge of learning the game mechanics and making a sustainable vault in survival mode, the game is just not fun.

After a certain number of people the game will crash on the iPad Mini (1st gen). Since then, I quit playing this game. But I was kind of fun to play it for a couple of hours.
