I loved the others in the series. Simulacra 1, 2, and Pipe Dream are overall very solid games. But this one is by far the worst.

The characters scream bad acting, and are written so 1 dimensionally. I couldn’t be more bored as I read chats, look at photos, etc. The plot is just confusing and uninspired. The scares are cheap and amateurish. The puzzles are just weird and the central mechanic of unlocking the phone makes no sense.

I love this style of game - phone/computer simulations with elements of horror or detective work. The Simulacra series has always felt like a great idea with mediocre execution. This one sorta drove the nail in the coffin for me. I really hope another dev team will pick up the torch and really nail the potential of this style of game.
