So if you press "start" on the main menu, the game loads a new game file. And doesn't give you access to the main menu until it's already hit the first autosave point--which will overwrite your most recent autosave. Farewell, 20 minutes of gameplay. My own fault for not saving in a dedicated slot, but argh!
